Cooking dinner in the kitchen. The girls are playing quietly together upstairs when I hear...
"Mommy! Mommy! Look!"
I turn and see 6 at the top of the stairs, big silly grin on her face, arms spread wide. "Presenting, the amazing K!"
4 appears at the top of the stairs dressed in a long purple princess gown, princess shoes, face painted with makeup, tiara balanced on the top of her head - she parades slowly down the stairs like the queen, turns slightly to the right, looking over her shoulder. Perched on her left shoulder is Jane, her rat. "I have discovered rats." she says seriously. "I quite like them. I take good care of them." She turns and exits.
Too funny!

hmmm wonder why your hummingbirds are being coy? MIne practically dive bomb me and each other. My feeder hangs from my front porch.. and i have a cat and a dog who are frequently three with me.. and the birds don't mind a bit..
try adding more sugar to the water than you have been, maybe? Although you may have to wait til next summer..
Try planting some hummingbird friendly plants maybe? Bergamot.. ( bee balm.. the scarlet kind ) is good, they like my morning glories.. the blue ones seem to make them happiest... I think Hosta too.. they have info on the web for where you live, I am sure..
Your kids sound like a riot !
they grow so fast, aI am glad you are able to appreciate them ..
take care
